Sensational start for the first swiss interior expo 2024
Premiere impresses with high quality of trade visitors and exhibitors
With modern kitchen design and high-quality furniture from more than 100 top exhibitors, the first edition of the B2B event swiss interior expo 2024 met expectations across the board. ‘trendfairs considers itself lucky and is more than satisfied,’ says Michael Rambach, Managing Director and Partner of organiser Trendfairs. ‘The premiere of the trade fair was extremely well received by the industry. The high-quality products and services attracted a steady stream of industry experts over the three days. We believe that we have set the starting point for a success story here.’ A high visitor frequency, which was evenly distributed over all three days of the trade fair, a high dwell time and a high-calibre audience ensured satisfaction among the exhibitors. Retailers, architects, project developers and other furniture professionals were once again able to find out about the latest trends and experience attractive events at the same time.
From 5 to 7 November 2024, the exhibition centre in the Swiss metropolis of Bern became the meeting place for the furnishing industry. The list of exhibitors read like a who's who of the top names in the home and kitchen product sectors. The list of companies ranged from Bauformat to Carat, der Kreis, Dinger Stone, Grohe, Häcker, Haier, Horst, Kettnaker, Laufen, Leu, Liebherr, Morath, Orea, Quooker, Rolf Benz, Schösswender, Schüller, SHD, Siematic, Strasser, Suter (sponsor lebensraum), V-Zug, Venjakob, Willisau and Wimmer. In addition to the major brands, many innovators in the sector were also attracted to the Bernexpo exhibition centre. The entire diversity of modern living was on display. Decision-makers and movers and shakers from the kitchen and furnishing trade were able to gain decisive impetus for their product ranges. ‘There is a great need in Switzerland for a live trade event for the kitchen and furnishing industry,’ says Michael Rambach. ‘With the swiss interior expo, we have created this platform and created great added value for both sides: Visitors experienced an interesting programme that also more than met the country's traditionally high quality standards. And the exhibitors met high-calibre decision-makers from trade, crafts, architecture, project development and other exciting areas.’ The ‘Apéro’, which brought the network together on the first evening of the trade fair, as well as the evening event organised by ‘der Kreis’ and the breakfast organised by Suter Inox on the last morning of the trade fair also created an experience.
The vibrant atmosphere in the exhibition centre showed that Trendfairs, the organiser of the trade fair, had hit a nerve with swiss interior expo: There was a great atmosphere in the aisles and on the stands for the duration of the trade fair. This was confirmed by everyone involved: ‘We are really surprised at the quality of the visitors to this first event,’ said Lars Knaak from Bauformat. The give-and-take factor was emphasised by Patrick Brunner, Managing Director of the Willisau Group: ‘The trade fair offers us an ideal opportunity to present our high-quality tables and chairs to a wide audience and to gather inspiration for the living trends of the future in dialogue with experts and customers.’
Prof. Dr Donato Scognamiglio emphasised the long-term effect of the trade fair: ‘It is platforms like swiss interior expo that promote dialogue and make the industry fit for the future - progress is only possible thanks to a constant exchange of knowledge.’ The Chairman of the Board of Directors, IAZI AG - CIFI SA, was also one of the speakers at the ‘stage’, which focussed on precisely this topic: Knowledge transfer meets communication meets networking. With his presentation on the Swiss property market, which is of great importance for the development of the furnishing industry, he was one of the industry giants who captivated the audience over the three days - just like Branca Good, the ‘room whisperer’ and lecturer, who devoted her presentations to the laws of cosiness.
Even more inspiration was provided by the special show ‘lebensraum’, in which the rooms ‘kitchen eating living’ were merged and presented in a carefully coordinated overall presentation. The ‘lebensraum’ was very well received by both visitors and the media - and also by the exhibitors who took part with furniture and kitchens. They rated the special show as a great success and are planning to add their own stand at the next swiss interior expo.
The best news is: the trade fair provided a strong impetus for the industry and was a convincing new meeting place for the sector. That's why the swiss interior expo will be back. The next edition of the new interior design trade fair in Switzerland is planned for 2026.
