swiss interior expo 2026: Successful concept is being further developed - preparations are in full swing

2025-06-24

The timing is perfect: if you want to benefit from the expected upward trend in the furnishing industry, you can set the course now and secure strategic advantages for your trade fair planning. After a challenging period, the economic outlook has recently brightened: According to the KOF economic research institute at ETH Zurich, GDP growth of 1.7 per cent is forecast for Switzerland in 2026. Construction and renovation activity is picking up and demand for high-quality furnishing solutions is rising again. It is precisely in this environment that swiss interior expo will return in November 2026 - with an expanded concept, a strengthened format and positive signals from the industry.

At the request of the industry: event period moved to Monday to Wednesday
The second edition of the trade fair for furnishings and kitchens will take place in Bern from 9 to 11 November 2026. The premiere in 2024 showed that the format is in tune with the times - and the trade fair will continue to grow in 2026. The organisers have already received the first registrations and numerous other exhibitors have expressed their interest. At the request of many companies and visitors, the trade fair will be held on weekdays from Monday to Wednesday in future - to make it easier for trade visitors to travel to the event. Many kitchen studios in Switzerland are closed on Mondays, which makes the new time slot ideal for a visit to the trade fair.

Keeping the proven, but remaining innovative
The proven concept remains unchanged: swiss interior expo brings together industry, trade, architecture and interior design - targeted, high-quality and tailored to the requirements of the Swiss market. The special show "lebensraum" and the "stage" will once again be central components of the trade fair in 2026. The "stage" already impressed at its premiere with high-calibre presentations on topics such as the circular economy, sustainability, the Swiss property market and generational change in family businesses - relevant impulses that strengthen the transfer of knowledge in the industry and provide orientation. In 2026, the stage programme will once again inspire, network and encourage dialogue. The "lebensraum" special area also proved to be a crowd-puller in 2024. The exhibition concept, which showcased all facets of modern everyday life, made it possible to experience the kitchen, dining, living and working as a holistic living space. The design was deliberately homely, emotional and functional at the same time - an approach that not only delighted visitors, but also attracted a great deal of media attention. The continuation of this concept is firmly planned for 2026 and will be further developed in terms of content.

"A valuable trade fair in an exclusive environment"
Demand from the industry is high. "After our successful participation in 2024, we know how valuable a trade fair in this exclusive environment is for the industry," explains Sven Breitenmoser, Managing Director of Quooker Schweiz AG. "With our high-quality Quooker taps, we are firmly established in the Swiss market, and swiss interior expo offers an ideal platform to present our innovations." Jörg Varnholt, Sales Manager Export Europe at Häcker Küchen, was also satisfied: "The trade fair offered us a good platform to present our innovations and we very much appreciated the dialogue with our specialist trade partners on site." And Walter Pretelli, Managing Director of einrichtenschweiz, emphasised the idea of networking: "We see our mission as networking the furnishing industry. A trade fair serves precisely the purpose of offering the industry such a platform. We are delighted that swiss interior expo is a trade fair that gives the industry the opportunity to prioritise networking as well as presenting new products."

With over 100 renowned exhibitors, the premiere in November 2024 got off to a brilliant start. The Swiss trade audience responded enthusiastically to the new trade fair format. Many exhibitors reported high-quality contacts, lively demand and a high visitor dwell time. The trade fair has thus established itself as a relevant industry meeting point within a very short space of time. The location in Bern impressed with its central location, bilingualism and accessibility, with visitors from all parts of the country making their way to the exhibition halls.

The swiss interior expo is an initiative of the industry for the industry. Born out of the desire for a dedicated national platform for the Swiss interior design world, the trade fair fills an important gap in the market. The standards will remain high in 2026: quality, relevance and dialogue at eye level.
