„swiss interior expo“: a unique fair for a unique country
New trade fair for kitchens and furnishings in Bern 2024 – "tailor made" for Switzerland's value-conscious customers
The new B2B trade fair "swiss interior expo" by Trendfairs GmbH (Munich) will celebrate its premiere from 5 to 7 November 2024 at the Bernexpo site in the Swiss capital and will take place every two years thereafter. The new format is tailored to the exceptional market of the Swiss Confederation.
The ranking for Switzerland is impressive: on a global scale, it is only 133rd in terms of size and 98th in terms of heads - in terms of economic strength, however, the central European country is 20th, in terms of quality of life and gross domestic product per inhabitant it is fourth worldwide, in terms of per capita wealth it is second, and in terms of innovative strength and competitiveness it is unchallenged on the winner's rostrum.
Switzerland is known for its financial sector, pharmaceuticals and luxury goods. But the Swiss furniture industry, from kitchens to upholstery to home furnishings, and the various suppliers are often leading - far beyond Europe's borders. Although Switzerland offers more than 200 trade fairs, only four are dedicated to the segments of modern furnishing, living and lifestyle - mostly only partially. For the trade fair professional Trendfairs, this starting position was reason enough to begin the initial planning and preparation work for an independent Swiss trade event more than two years ago.
"Trendfairs is pleased to launch a trade fair for kitchens and furnishings in such an economically attractive country. We share the firm conviction of our customers that Switzerland holds brilliant sales opportunities and the need for a focused trade fair is palpable. Trendfairs is looking forward to initiating the swiss interior expo as a guest in such a congenial environment", says Michael Rambach, Managing Director and shareholder of Trendfairs GmbH.
The "swiss interior expo", which will be launched for the first time in 2024, will be a business event in Switzerland for Switzerland. This is because the need for a live trade event for the kitchen and furnishing industry has been articulated time and again by industry insiders, multipliers and the qualified trade. Moreover, the Swiss furnishing market is one of the most attractive from a national and international perspective. The country with high quality standards as well as great attachment to its homeland on the part of its inhabitants proves value stability and balance in the long term.
Trendfairs is therefore offering a platform for companies in Switzerland for the first time from 5 to 7 November next year in Bern to promote sales and networking around kitchens and furnishings and to support positive market development. The "swiss interior expo" will be the central trade fair in Switzerland for everything to do with kitchens and the entire furnishing world. This is where the industry will meet all the key decision-makers from the kitchen and furnishing trade, interior designers and architects, specialist planners, developers, designers, carpenters, investors, general contractors and trade media from Switzerland. The event will be rounded off by the "event stage" for networking and inspiring knowledge exchange. The special show "Lebensraum" and the "swiss area" round off the concept.
For Häcker Küchen, Managing Director Markus Sander is clearly committed to this premiere event: "The swiss interior expo 2024 trade fair in Bern offers us the opportunity to present Häcker as a German kitchen furniture manufacturer with the 2024/2025 product innovations. At the same time, we are looking forward to exchanging ideas with our Swiss customers and making many new interesting contacts."
The background for the hotspot "Lebensraum" is the merging of the spaces for cooking, dining, living and, most recently, even sleeping and domestic work into an innovative overall staging that has been observed for years. Lebensraum has thus become the planning basis for most residential architecture. Private customers, retailers or contract furnishers no longer focus on a single room, but rather furnish themselves in a contemporary way with one or two (large) rooms.
The live experience "Lebensraum" at the "swiss interior expo" focuses on the concentrated mental penetration of realised living worlds. In various design and taste directions, Trendfairs, together with a renowned design office, presents unique living designs here, which are put together with products from participating exhibitors. In addition to creative input for the trade, the "living space" thus offers participating exhibitors fascinating possibilities and additional sales opportunities.
Hans Winkler, Hans Winkler Design, is very enthusiastic about the exhibition: "The Lebensraum exhibition is a curation of high-quality brands, with the claim to be perfectly coordinated and excellently presented in several living spaces. All the rooms are combined with fine brands and materials to create a living experience. We avoid everything that irritates the focus on the furnishings and, through sensitive arrangements, redirect the eye to the high quality of the interior design, without limitations by room walls. A concept that is as exciting as it is challenging, with a clear chance of being a highlight at siex."
The focus of the trade fair presentation, on the other hand, is the excellent product variety and depth under the aspects of best quality, top design and sustainability. In parallel to discerning and enthusiastic trade fair visitors from Switzerland, numerous interested parties from neighbouring countries are expected. Bern is the ideal location for the "swiss interior expo". Well connected in terms of infrastructure and communicatively integrating both German and French-speaking Switzerland, the fifth-largest city in the Swiss Confederation will, as always, present itself magnificently.
"The swiss interior expo offers Wimmer Wohnkollektionen an ideal stage to present our high-quality solid wood products to the Swiss specialist dealer. By participating in this trade fair, we take the opportunity to meet our customers and expand our network. Our solid unique pieces are well received in the Swiss market. We promise ourselves good business at the swiss interior expo and look forward to 2024," says Stephan Rotter, Managing Director Wimmer Wohnkollektion.
